川普對支持者說：「我擔心選舉將被操弄，我必須老實說，我這方面會被做掉…。我聽到很多，十一月八日的選舉也許不是公平競賽。」不過他沒有提出證據。川普接受福斯新聞台訪問時又說一遍，並加碼說：「我希望共和黨人密切監督，我們的票會被拿走。」
川普之前對民主黨的初選也發表類似言論，表示民主黨操作制度，以便對希拉蕊有利，對桑德斯不利。共和黨初選期間，川普也抱怨，初選制度被操弄，目的是阻止他獲得提名。
在同天賓州賓哈立斯堡的集會上，川普批評桑德斯支持希拉蕊，他說：「他（桑德斯）與魔鬼交易，她就是魔鬼。」川普最近多次說桑德斯「與魔鬼交易」，但這是他第一次直指希拉蕊是魔鬼。
川普上周在愛荷華州說，桑德斯「賣給了魔鬼」。他上月廿九日在科羅拉多州說：「伯尼（桑德斯）搞砸了。他把自己的靈魂賣給魔鬼。」
川普最近陷入麻煩，他以刻薄的言語嘲諷一名在伊拉克為國捐軀的穆斯林美軍的父母，招致兩黨同聲撻伐。
美國有線電視新聞網（ＣＮＮ）一日公布兩黨全代會後的民調，希拉蕊的支持度回升七個百分點，再度取得領先地位，在與川普一對一的對決中，希拉蕊支持度百分之五十二，領先川普的百分之四十三。
